Spain crowned champions of Europe for a record fourth time
England beaten in Euro 2024 final after Mikel Oyarzabal's late goal
Spain have won the European Championship for a record fourth time after defeating England 2-1 in the final of Euro 2024.
The match was a tense affair, with both teams having chances to win it. England took the lead in the first half through Harry Kane, but Spain equalised in the second half through Alvaro Morata. The match went into extra time, and it was Spain who eventually won it through a goal from Mikel Oyarzabal in the 119th minute.
The victory means that Spain have now won the European Championship more times than any other nation. It is also their first major trophy since they won the World Cup in 2010.
England's wait for a first major men's trophy since 1966 goes on. They have now lost in the final of the European Championship three times, and they have also lost in the semi-finals of the World Cup twice.
