Portugal Knocked Out of Euro 2024 in Penalty Shootout Loss to France

France defeated Portugal 5-3 in a penalty shootout on Saturday, advancing to the semi-finals of Euro 2024. The match remained goalless through regular time and extra time, with both teams failing to find a breakthrough. In the shootout, Kylian Mbappe scored the decisive penalty to send France through.
Portugal had a chance to win the match in the final seconds of extra time, but Joao Felix's shot hit the post. The miss proved costly for Portugal, as they were eliminated from the tournament in heartbreaking fashion.
France will now face Spain in the semi-finals on July 4th. Spain defeated Germany 3-1 in their quarterfinal match earlier on Saturday.
