Thunderstorms Interrupt Heat, Remove Advisory and Diminish Ongoing Threat of Severe Weather

Heat Advisory Lifted

After days of sweltering heat, thunderstorms have finally arrived in the area, bringing much-needed relief. The National Weather Service has lifted the heat advisory that had been in effect for the past several days.

Cooler Temperatures

The thunderstorms have brought with them cooler temperatures. The high temperature today is expected to be in the low 80s, a significant drop from the high 90s we have been experiencing lately.

Severe Weather Threat Diminished

The thunderstorms have also diminished the ongoing threat of severe weather. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area, but that watch has now been canceled.

Still a Slight Risk

While the severe weather threat has diminished, there is still a slight risk of isolated severe thunderstorms. These storms could produce heavy rain, hail, and lightning.
