Rockets Acquire Forward Evan Rodrigues From Penguins

Trade Details

The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded forward Evan Rodrigues to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a conditional 2023 fourth-round pick, the teams announced Friday.

The pick will become a third-rounder if the Maple Leafs reach the second round of the 2023 playoffs and Rodrigues plays in at least 50% of their playoff games.

Rodrigues' Production

Rodrigues, 29, has 19 goals and 24 assists in 76 games with the Penguins this season. He is a versatile forward who can play center or wing and has a history of producing offense.

In 383 career NHL games, Rodrigues has 69 goals and 92 assists for 161 points.

Maple Leafs' Outlook

The Maple Leafs are hoping that Rodrigues can provide some secondary scoring and depth to their lineup. They are currently second in the Atlantic Division with a 46-21-7 record.

Rodrigues is expected to make his Maple Leafs debut on Saturday against the Boston Bruins.
